We currently have an exciting opportunity to join our team. A vacancy has arisen for the role of Holmes Typist within EMSOU Major Crime.
The main purpose of the role is to provide typing and audio typing support for EMSOU Major Crime and its customers. The role includes the preparation of documents for court files and can often require the post holder to deal with upsetting and unpleasant material. A high standard of accuracy and attention to detail is essential in this work.
Additionally, the successful candidate will be trained in the role of call handler in the event of a Casualty Bureau activation, receiving telephone calls from members of the public and inputting Casualty / survivor / evacuee forms into the Holmes database.
Key skills and experience required:
Experience in administrative/clerical procedures
Experience in the accurate maintenance of records
Competent in Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook
Proven ability to audio type
High standard of typing to at least 35 wpm or equivalent
GCSE English Language or equivalent
